Russell is one of our very own studs, and I couldn’t be more proud to say that I produced this boy myself!
He is truly everything I could ever want in both a stud and a family companion. Not only is he an incredible dog himself, but he consistently produces some of the most amazing, well-rounded puppies.
Russell is the definition of a balanced temperament. He is confident, playful, goofy, affectionate, easygoing, and non-reactive. He has a wonderful off switch, high touch tolerance, is highly trainable, and is always happy to go with the flow.
He’s the kind of dog who can be up for an adventure one minute and perfectly content relaxing with his family the next. Just an all around GOOD goldendoodle boy. 🤎
Temperament matters, and Russell is such a wonderful example of what we strive to produce in our program. Seeing him consistently pass these qualities down to his puppies is something I am incredibly proud of.

This is called ticking (aka freckles!), and these adorable little spots develop on the white areas of a dog’s coat as they mature.
Penny & Russell’s parti pups always seem to inherit this fun little feature, and I absolutely love watching their freckles come in! 🤎
I know roan is super popular among breeders right now, but I think I might actually prefer ticking! I love how it adds a little extra character without completely covering up those beautiful white areas.

Keeping those little minds busy helps build confidence, encourages problem solving, prevents boredom, and provides a healthy outlet for all that puppy energy.
Physical exercise is important, but don’t forget to exercise their brains, too! 🤎

Puppy selections won’t take place until later, but I have a feeling our petite little girl may be the one available. She is TINY and currently estimated to be around the same size as her 12 lb daddy! 🥹 Of course, their 8 week weights will give us a better idea of their expected adult size.

Imposter syndrome is real. 🤍
I’m constantly questioning myself, does everything I’m doing really make a difference? Is there something more I could be doing? Something I could improve?
Deep down, I know the answer. But when you pour this much of yourself into raising puppies, you’re always looking for ways to do better.
My goal has never been to simply raise puppies for 8 weeks. My goal is to make the transition into their forever homes as easy as possible for the puppy and their family. The crate training, potty foundations, handling, enrichment, confidence building, exposure, routines, independence… all of those little things add up.
And then I get an update like this. 🥹
Sleeping through the night in her crate. No accidents. Already communicating when she needs to go outside. Settling beautifully into her new home. And most importantly, a family who is already completely obsessed with her. ❤️
This is why I do what I do.
People can call me a “backyard breeder.” They can tell me to “get a real job.” They can comment “adopt, don’t shop.”
But raising puppies responsibly and intentionally is real work and it’s absolutely a full-time job.
Rescue is an amazing choice for many families, and responsible breeding is an amazing choice for others. Some families specifically want the predictability that comes from known health testing, temperament, early development, and a breeder who has intentionally raised and prepared their puppy from birth.
I’m not just trying to send families home with a cute puppy.
I’m trying to send them home with a puppy who has been given every opportunity to become an incredible lifelong family member.
Updates like this remind me that all those little things really do matter. 🥹❤️
Light pink collar now Knox is off to her forever Home in Washington. It couldn’t have worked more perfectly for these two to get this very special girl.
